Mindful Practice

Below are 6 steps for developing and cultivating a mindful practice…

We’re all coming from different places, and backgrounds, and we all have our own stories that form our status and identity.

Many of our stories are overlapping, and others are our own.

Those stories are not who we are but they are events we have experienced.

Often times we cannot disassociate ourselves from our experiences.

This limits our understanding of our truth.

A mindful practice is a powerful tool that allows us to see ourselves for who we really are by letting go of our attachments.

Our attachments are not only physical, but emotional, spiritual, and otherwise.

The practice is rather simple and it gets quite powerful with time.

There is no right or wrong way to practice and the following is a simple guideline:

  • Sit comfortably
  • Focus on breathing
  • Observe thoughts, let them pass
  • Observe sensations, let them pass
  • Return to breathing
  • Repeat daily or throughout day as needed

Before you begin each day, leave all expectation behind.

It’s okay to set an intention, but do not be intent on specific results.

Let the practice do the work, just arrive.
